REVIEWS
"The unaccompanied literature is not only technically and physically challenging - hence the title Marathon - it pushes the performer to expressive heights as well. Michelle Stebleton’s outstanding technique and ease with this difficult instrument combine with intriguing compositions to create a unique and satisfying musical experience... Highly recommended."
John Pitt, New Classics [September 2020]
"It takes a player of some confidence and experience to put out a disc of unaccompanied works, doubly so perhaps for the notoriously difficult French horn. Stebleton brings both to this enterprise... this disc is also a clear demonstration of Stebleton's mastery of the horn and a record of some pieces which challenge and demand of the player without resorting to extremities of technique for the mere sake of it. There is both musical and technical satisfaction here, thanks to the choice of repertoire and a player well-versed in handling it. the works are thought-provoking, the playing outstanding... Ms. Stebleton [is] a remarkable player with formidable technical and interpretive skills."
Kilpatrick, American Record Guide [January / February 2011]
