Cuban composer Aurelio de la Vega has been a leading figure in Latin-American art music for over a half century, receiving numerous prizes, commissions & awards throughout this hemisphere. His musical style is dramatic, intense & expressive, and the evolution of his compositional craft is clearly evident in this CD, a complete anthology of his works for solo piano.

Pianist Martha Marchena (also a Cuban artist) is an innovative and versatile performer, and a powerful interpreter of de la Vega’s music.
