Bindman,
beloved of audiences for her fresh and engaging interpretations of repertoire of
the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, the 20th – as well as the 21st –
centuries, is one of the most exciting musicians of today, attracting new and
inclusive audiences. Performer, pedagogue, published author, recording artist
– Eleonor Bindman’s talents are as diverse as they are impressive.
Her exhilarating performances, as both recital and concerto soloist, have become
anticipated and regular events, especially in New York, Eleonor’s home since
moving from her native Riga, Latvia. She has appeared at the prestigious Weill
Hall annually for the past 11 years, where Mid-America Productions promotes her
appearances. In addition, her concertizing career has seen at a range of venues
including Merkin Hall, Steinway Hall, Christ and St. Stephen’s Church, CAMI
Hall, Columbia University, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, among other halls.
These performances have included unique interpretations of J.S. Bach, Mozart,
Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Albeniz, Gershwin and
several performances – including premieres – by composer Sean
Hickey. With dozens of regular students, Eleonor is also a passionate and
committed teacher.
