MACHALA

The
character piece came into its own in the 19th century, and composers eagerly
expanded their repertoire of this intimate genre. Much solo and chamber music
was produced for a variety of instruments, but the horn was often relegated,
with a few exceptions, to symphonic and military duties. Mr. Machala, therefore,
has arranged a number of works for horn and piano as a contribution to the
standard repertoire providing horn players with solo works of great Romantic
masters.
